Important Announcement- Family Bridge Temporary Closure

Dear Prospective Clients and  Prospective Volunteers,
It is with sincere regret that we inform you that Family Bridge Visitation and Community Services Center has suspended all services.

We are very thankful for the opportunity afforded Family Bridge  as a provider of supervised visitation services to help families and children who are separated remain connected. We could not be more thankful to those who have believed in us and the mission of Family Bridge.

Through the benevolence of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Family Bridge was afforded the use of their church parsonage for over 3 years. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the operation of Family Bridge in its present location in Lithia Springs, GA  is no longer possible.    As a regrettable outcome of this we have to suspend all services until another location is secured. During this hiatus, we will actively seek  a location that will allow the Family Bridge model of visitation in a homelike environment to continue and expand.

We  deeply regret any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause.

Thank you for entrusting Family Bridge in providing services for families and children in crisis.   We are truly grateful for your support and look forward to resuming services in early 2018.

As we pursue another home for Family Bridge, we welcome  and would be most appreciative of any suggestions or leads on a future location.

Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at info@familybridgecvc.org.

Sincerely,

Joy Bates and Ann Mathis

Join the D2L Movement- Help End Child Sexual Abuse!

D2L_Logo

Child sexual abuse is an adult issue.

One in 10 children in the U.S. will be sexually abused before the age of 18. As adults, we are responsible for the well-being and protection of the children in our care.

The ultimate mission of D2L, to end child sexual abuse, can only be accomplished by sharing the solution of prevention, awareness and education with more and more people. This, in turn, builds momentum and over time, changes the way our nation and culture cares for, protects, and nurtures our children. Being an active participant in the mission to end childhood sexual abuse is one of the most rewarding things we will ever do – and we cannot do it without you!

Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training

As parents, you make choices every day to protect your kids. You cover them with sunblock in the summer to protect them from burns. You bundle them up in winter to protect them from the cold. You take them for vaccinations and pediatrician visits to ensure they grow up strong and healthy.

But how do you protect them from sexual abuse?  You might think it can’t happen in your family, town, or youth serving organizations. And that’s what everyone likely thinks – until it happens.

The reality is, child sexual abuse is likely the most prevalent health problem children face, with the most serious array of consequences.

Family Bridge Visitation and Community Services Center vision is to offer several programs to enhance the lives of families here in Douglas County. Supervised and supported visitation is the first of several services Family Bridge will offer.

Conveniently located in Lithia Springs, GA, Family Bridge Visitation and Community Services Center is situated in a park-like setting and provides a safe and welcoming environment for children to visit with their parents and family members; the children and visiting parent(s)/family members can enjoy their visit in a private, child-friendly room where visits are monitored by a trained, volunteer visit supervisor who is neutral to the family situation and will document the interaction and activities of the visit.

To support successful visitations for children and families, the  center offers four rooms for visitation: an infant room, a toddler room, a teen room, a family room for general visits and sharing a family meal. The center also offers a family gathering room and large yard with picnic tables for outdoor activities.

Family Bridge offers families the chance to interact in a more natural, family-centered space, maintaining connections, and fostering healing and growth.

We are excited to announce supervised visitation is now available at the center.

Our trained visitation monitors are ready to serve children and families and  help rebuild family relationships”.
